How to Be Bad

From three critically acclaimed and bestselling authors comes one story - equal parts charming, hilarious, and emotional - of a road trip that proves that sometimes it doesn't matter where you're going, since getting there is half the fun.
Three girls who couldn't be more different have one goal in mind: to get the heck out of Dodge. Well, Niceville, Florida, actually. But it might as well be called Nowheresville. Vicks is the wild-child fry cook whose boyfriend left for college and isn't returning any of her calls; Mel, the good girl in expensive jeans who just wants everyone to like her; and Jesse, the trailer-dwelling human morality meter who's discovered a life-altering secret -
Each has her own reason for climbing into Jesse's mom's beat-up station wagon and hitting the highway for a weekend trip, whether she knows it or not. Armed only with Vicks's ancient, battered copy of a guidebook called Fantastical Florida, a map Jesse picked up with her dwindling funds, and Mel's mom's credit card, they're Miami bound. Hearts will be broken, friendships will be tested, and a ridiculously hot stranger could change the course of everything. And if they don't kill each other first, Vicks, Mel and Jesse will not only have a road trip to remember, they'll have friends for life.

Critical Praise for
How to Be Bad
"Whip-smart dialogue and a fast-moving, picaresque plot that zooms from lump-in-the-throat moments to all-out giddiness will keep readers going, and it’s a testimony to how real these girls seem that the final chapters are profoundly satisfying rather than tidy."
Publishers Weekly (starred review)
"The authors’ styles blend seamlessly, folding three characters’ distinct voices into a funny, poignant story about facing your troubles with friends at your side."

Ariel (Winston Salem, NC)
This is a good book on how girls from different backgrounds can become friends even though they are very different form one another. It shows that friends can be rude, have secrets and in the end tell each other everything. This is a book for teen girls.

This book captures the love of adventure! Each girl craves for this weekend trip for one reason;to flee from obstacles. Instead, this trip helps them to face their fears, set aside their differences, and create a closer bond of friendship. This book is such an enjoyment to read!!

This book was amazing! I literally read this book in two days. What I really liked about this book is by the end of the road trip each one of the girls changed in some way. They found things out about each other they never would have known if they weren't together. I definitely want to read past and future books from each of the three authors.

"How To Be Bad" is an awesome book that was right up my alley about 3 girls going on a road trip. It has always been a dream of mine to go on a road trip, and just reading about that of Mel, Vicks, and Jesse was fun! 5/5 stars.

This book became one of my favorite book right after I read the first few chapters! Right after I learned how it was written I knew that it would be good, and it didn't let me down. You could not tell that the authors had switched back and forth to write it. I picked it up in the morning, and couldn't bear to part with it, until I had finished it that night! Amazing, and I hope that there are more like this one!

I enjoyed this book. The characters were all extremely different from each other, and they balanced each other well. The voices truly sounded like teenage girls facing honest problems. Overall, I think that the authors combined thier talents to create an excellent book.
