I really enjoyed this book. I haven't read any of the previous books, but it works well as a stand alone. The author gives enough back story so that you are familiar with the characters. I love paranormal books and this one is not cheesy, but delves into the psyche of what it may be like to live a double life with mortals and your immortal boyfriend. I like that teen issues are brought up as well so that the reader identifies what it might be like to be Raven!
